Here are a couple more:
My daughter went to the first of 10 singing classes yesterday and they had to "audition" in front of a video camera. Everyone survived, she said. I would think if you practiced (anything) in front of a video camera, even using a tripod it would help you not be shy. - Robin

Join Toastmasters' Club. It is a public speaking club.
Some clubs even have teen meetings, they did when I was in
Toastmasters. It would be a great way for you to start because the members listen to your speeches and give instant feedback. They would be very supportive of you and your dream.
When you go to college, take drama classes, speech classes, join clubs that get asked to go other places to speak, such as, a debate class. Start now, it is never to early to start working on your dream.
Have someone videotape you at home. Practice where you feel
real safe and secure. Talk to yourself in the mirror. Listen to your voice on tape and hear where you could improve your speaking skills.
There are so many things you can do. You might ask your
teachers what they might be able to suggest. They would be full of ideas. If you are homeschooled, you have an advantage over kids in school...your family...they could help by including speech and debate in your curriculum, perhaps with other students. Now, would be a great time for a presidential election speech and debate. :-) You could do research papers, etc., and read them to your family. The librarian at your school or your local library would be someone you might get some advice from.
She/he could tell you about clubs, books, etc. that could help you. Maybe you could be a docent (person who leads groups and explains things) at your local museum.
I could go on and on, there are so many places to get the
information and support that you need. Even if you were to
change your mind about acting, you will always be able to use the skills you will accomplish in speech, drama, and debate classes. Those are skills needed in any profession. But, I hope you will get started soon. Do all you can to realize your dreams in life. Whatever you choose as your career, and whatever you do, be sure to do it well. Always be honest, hard-working, and care for others and you will do fine. Most importantly, pat yourself on the back OFTEN and be proud of your accomplishments--big or small-- throughout your lifetime. - EL

Hope this is helpful. There are also a couple programs like
Say What You Mean that are helpful in communication skills!
