Subject: Role reversals and homeschooling

Have any of you found yourselves where the husband is the stay at home parent and the wife is the breadwinner? The Lord has led me this way; my spouse is not really well enough to work outside the home and takes care of my elderly mom and teen son. We have homeschooled on and off, and are back into it for this year. I keep getting criticism from other believers who insist I am trying to take over the home, but my husband is the leader of our household. Even when the roles were traditional he sought my input and I sought his. We have been married 32 years and our only is a late life miracle (we are infertile except for this one miracle). So since we have only 1 we are also often criticized as selfish until people learn that we wanted many children but God only allowed us the one. I would like to know if there are any other women out there married with spouse at home and primary wage earners but otherwise have a traditional home life. I feel like a freak. I also am working with several chronic illnesses that could end up putting me on disability at some point but I am praying my way through.
