I would love to homeschool my just turned 5 yr old daughter, but we were overseas last year and she has only one friend left from Kindergarten. We live in a remote area and almost none of the local homeschooling families have children her age or close. Most are either younger (e.g. 2 yrs) or older (from 8 yrs up).

My daughter is quite happy to play by herself for quite some time but not every afternoon of the week ... If I homeschool her in the morning, I need some time in the afternoons to do my work (big garden) and I also get bored with too much playing with her and little time for my own interests.
I can take her to ballet and gym lessons etc but that still means I don't get any time off.
Any ideas to get her and my needs met?
