ZURICH & The NHBC new build warranties state the new build has got to be built in accordance with their requirements and that requirement is published in their own technical manual. This requirement refers to the construction standard and that standard being BSI ( British Standards Institution ) and also building regulations and BRE. Perhaps we should be asking them if that requirement is actually followed WHY DO WE STILL FIND DEFECTS IN NEW PROPERTIES some minor and some serious???

My property was inspected by the following people and I found over 165 defects in the property:-

1. Building Control (who prior to issuing a completion certificate check that the new property meets the building regulations)

2. The builder who has the relevant qualification.

3. The warranty provider

4. The site foreman

5. Contractors who carry out the work

6. The Estate agent who sells the property

SO IF ALL HAVE THE RELEVANT QUALIFICATIONS WHY DO WE HAVE DEFECTS ??????
