Subject: Hills to compare with Taupo

Hi there,
If I'm looking for a hill to train on that will compare to the long drag up the hill south of Taupo (thinking CycleChallenge in November here), what are my choices for gradient/ distance?
TIA
Geoff

I find that the Wainuiomata Hill(from the Hutt side) is the best one locally. Not sure of comparative lengths or gradients but the pain this hill can inflict after a Sunday 80km ride seems similar in intensity to the effect Hatepe Hill has after 140km riding. Just don't try and break the sound barrier on the return descent.
