The best guitar doesn't excist. You have to play and hear yourself. Try Almansa , it's a young company that makes very good student-guitars. Very good and for nice prices. Try the 403, sound very good and more expensive the 435 or the 457. But these are already for the more advanced player.

Important is to look at the way it was made. make sure you see good materials (goldplated tuners) and good qualty of wood (spruce or cedar/ebony for the fingerboard, etc..), no flaws...

I play on a handmade Picado (Spain, spruce top, indian rosewood back and sides, etc.). Exellent quitar.

You don't have to be a romantic, like Martin says, to play a nice instrument. All you need is some money and the love to play it ,like it was build for.
