Subject: More ADMSIA reviews! Forbidden and Raider. (txt)

Bandai continues to make really odd choices with the ADMSIA line.

For every plus they balance it with a minus!

Freedom and Justice had nice hard PVC but no double joints in the knees or elbows.

Forbidden and Raider have nice double joints, but have some really SOFT PVC parts, particularly the hands!

Forbidden in particular has a problem as his mid bicep swivel is a very soft PVC ball joint that pops out really easy! His scythe has a nice metal shaft but the tip blade and most of the top part is super rubbery and tends to droop. Also the shaft is far to thin to held firmly unless you put the knob on the end in one hand (didn't that sound naughty! :)

There are some other small improvements though. Raiders gun grip is bigger so he holds his gun much better than Freedom or Justice. And the front skirts on both are now seperately movable! (Wasn't that a BIG thing for one of us...:p)

The transformations are for the most part fine. Neither transformation is really sophisticated enough to really cause any problems (on that note, anyone got a review of the ADMSIA Aegis?)

Forbidden is really simple as the armor doesn't even lower to cover the head, the whole deal just swings up above the head. With Raider the bird mode may not look great but at least it's an attempt at a different mode. Only real problem there is the lack of a proper hinge in the wings. They pull out a bit but it's just on a flat insert, so open the wings too far and they just fall apart down the middle.

Overall, they're okay, but like every other ADMSIA they still haven't earned the Advanced part of the title, as still a 2.0 type standard MSIA is hands down the better engineered toy.

I thought I'd like Forbidden better, but actually Raider is the better toy as it's more solid overall and the gimmick works better. Hopefully Calamity will be even better since he has no transform gimmick just lots of guns!

Can't wait for that 2.0 DOM!
