Subject: Review: FOTNS Raoh 200x Ver. 2 and Kenshiro 200x Ver. 2....

My local comic shop had these in Wednesday and I made sure they didn't go anywhere before I could come back in today and grab them. They were $17 a pop. So onto the reviews!

-Kenshiro-

Hey it's Kenshiro and he's not battle damaged or bloodied up. The sculpt is beautiful, although I do have some slight issues with the head sculpt. Tomohide Enoki did an awesome job except for the nose, which I feel doesn't quite match Tetsuo Hara's artwork. Didn't Enoki sculpt the Spike figure Kaiyodo did? If so, I had the exact same problem with that figure. Really though, there's nothing to complain about. Ken comes with Nunchukus and a pair of extra jointed hands.

One of the more interesting articulation design works on this figure is the ball jointed hips which are actually completely hidden under the soft plastic pelvic sculpt.

-Raoh-

Raoh Version 2 is easily three, dare I say four times better than his first 200X figure. He's more poseable then Kenshiro, much bigger of course, and in my opinion has the better sculpt of the two. Raoh comes with his cape and helmet for godlike appearence purposes. The cape is a little dissapointing as it's very solid and very heavy. Mine must have warped a little in the box because I cannot fit its pegs into Raoh's back yet, I'll have to do some heating and bending first.

I'm thinking of making a cloth cape for him though. Right now Raoh has a paper towel as a substitute.

The packaging for both figures are window boxes with monotone images from the manga series as backround. Ken's is rather small compared to the big box Raoh comes in. The sides of the boxes have quotes from the characters in English no less.

For Diamond's prices these figures are too good to pass up. Kaiyodo is constantly breaking new ground with articulation coupled with the greatest figure sculpts in the world.
