Subject: Maine West Tip Off Question

Anyone go to the tip off at St. Ignatius Wednesday. Marian Catholic wiped the floor with Mother MacCauley and St. Ignatius did the same with Washington. I have one question. I saw Marian Catholic play in October at the BullsSox facility in Lisle. There was a youg black girl playing for the Bulls that played a very strong post against the Marian Catholic big girls. This girl impressed a lot of people there and I remember that she was wearing a MacCauley basketball shirt after the game. I didn't see her at Thursday's game. Does she play for MacCauley? Who is she? Where is she playing now if at all? Just thought I would ask after seeing Wednesday's game. Also, Washington has fallen on hard times since the days of the Angela Williams teams. I hope they become competitive soon.

I saw the girl that you are talking about last year on the McAuley JV team. Her name is Amber, although there was another African American girl on that team name Tabitha. If you are referring to Amber, I know her parents. For some reason she didn't make the McAuley Varsity team this year. She did play power forward and center with the Chicago Bulls varsity team in the fall season that ended in mid October. Last time I saw her mother, they were getting ready to transfer her to another school at the holiday break so that she could maybe play the second half of this season. Don't know what happened to Tabitha, heard that her parents transferred her from that school before school started. Also don't know much about the past Washington teams, but since Angela is now in the WNBA, they probably were pretty good.

I was just wondering. Are you sure she didn't just give up on basketball? It would be extremely hard to believe she didn't make the team after seeing her in October and then seeing the team Wednesday at St. Ignatius. Either way, Marian will remain the team to beat in the sout and south suburbs. Look out Thornwood, MC is coming for you!!!
