Subject: What's funny...
In reply to: Jay 's message, "It wasn't my stake president" on 17:17:50 02/05/07 Mon

I've been talking with my dad about this subject for years now. It always comes down to something long the lines of him saying, "Well, It's stupid to support a third party because they don't have a chance. The Republicans aren't perfect, but their platform is." I would always ask him if he'd read the GOP platform lately and the answer was always, "no".

Well, I read some of it to him the other day... Only SOME because it's like 92 pages long. (not a good read, either.) NOWHERE could I find that they support the 2nd amendment. NOWHERE did I find that they are opposed to abortion. I did, however, find that the GOP is evidently leading the world in the "war against aids/hiv." ?????????? I DID find that they are fighting for "native american rights" ???????? I read that they favor a major "overhaul" of the Social Security system, meaning, that they simply want to put it into a "locked box". (Al Gore ticked me off always mentioning the "locked box".) The next thing was that they, and the Democrats, too, both support "fiscal discipline" in spending. WH WH WHAT??????????????????????????????????? Yes, that's one thing those two parties are known for! LOL

It was awesome to see someone have a drastic change of heart in just half an hour. BOOM! He goes from saying that not supporting the Republican party is immoral to being anti-GOP. It was quite amazing.

For those who still support the GOP because of their traditional values, support for the 2nd amendment, and their believe in smaller government, it's time to wake up and laugh off your major mistakes. That's like me saying that I love and support Steven Spielberg because he has a good heart and a kind spirit... and that he always does what he feels is best for mankind... It's absurd and there's absolutely no proof.
