This same scenario was suggested with Regan-Quail, suggesting that if Quail could win the presidency, Regan could serve another 1-2 terms.
It doesn't even require the death of the president. If the VP and the majority of congress determine that he is incompetent or somehow unable to discharge his powers of office, they can have him removed. It can be totally subjective, made up, manufactured, whatever . . .
I'm betting that Hillbillary will be our next president. In light of the war and all the Republican dirty laundry, I don't think that the Republicans have a chance in 2008. Most Americans, me included, are sick of the Republicans. I think that Charles Manson could beat out the best that the Republicans will have to offer, just because they are Republicans. I abjure the Democrats as much as I do the Republicans. I'm still unsure of who I would support in the next election.
