in the last natl CP convention in April. It started because a hot-headed Mormon butted heads with a few uber-fundamentalist "christians". It was just a handful of very outspoken critics of Mormons, fueled by some inflamatory things this Mormon leader from NV said. The critics tried to alarm everyone into thinking that this leader would corrupt or dilute CP's 100% pro-life position. The NV leader did nothing to allay those fears. But in the last natl meeting a significant majority of the delegates voted that the NV affiliate should not be "disaffiliated." This is the third time it's been voted on and it is the last time the question will be addressed. As a result a couple state CP affiliates have voted to leave the natl CP, a couple others have managed to keep their state orgs from bolting the natl org.
