if he got elected. His father, George Romney, I believe, tried and failed. I don't know the particulars behind it. From all that I know from those who know him personally, he is a good man. He escorted my dh though the temple the first time (I know...that doesn't mean he can't change or be corrupted later). He nearly defeated Ted Kennedy for goodness sake ( a little humor here). The Lord can do what he wants. Maybe if Mitt is a good man and he gets in, it could be the Lord's way of giving us (the USA) a last chance. It would be interesting to see what happened and how Mitt handled it. I KNOW that if he tried to uphold righteous principles all "you know what" would break lose. No one ever thought he could be elected in MA...a Mormon, ex bishop, ex stake president in that liberal state..yet somehow he did it. His opponent was a whiney "in your face, never could say anything good" liberal. Sometimes I think he won, only because everyone in the state was sick of listening to the other candidate whine all the time. I would love to see him go up against Hillary!!!!!

I don't profess to know all the answers to everything, but it is all fun to ponder and think about and I also believe very much that the Lord can place people where He needs them for whatever purpose.
