Subject: Update

Here's an update on our little Christmas on the Prairie thing:
http://www.in-forum.com/articles/index.cfm?id=111387§ion=News

Of particular interest was the last couple paragraphs:

However, in a recent grant application, he did include snippets of letters to the editor that resulted from changing the event’s name.

Hoheisel said incorrect information in some of those letters shows the need for local history education.

I don't know whether to laugh or punch him in the nose! Basically he's applying for the "Re-educate these Narrow-minded, Ethnocentric Natives" Grant and to show how desperate the need for this money, he uses the words of the letters of the locals who didn't like traditions tinkered--irrefutable PROOF of our ignorance. How condescending can you get???

And then here's dh's latest column on the issue (he's not going to write any more about it), responding to an editorial written by buddy of our beloved director (where he says, among other things that the Forum's editorial was "sloppy and insulting"--now THERE'S a way to win friends and influence people! LOL)

Anyway, here's the URL (sorry, my computer died, we just got a new one a couple days ago and I haven't gotten all my old info reinstalled, like my notes for html, etc)
