John Stossel did a lies and myths expose on Friday night, December 30, and this topic was among the ten discussed. I was telling my husband about it when we were out walking the next evening, that the 10 years since Replublicans have dominated Congress big government has doubled.

While talking of pork, the peanut festival was among several issues. Although the representative from Alabama declined talking to ABC about the festival, a few common folk were interviewed on the street. One man said it was ridiculous expenditure but figured if they were wasting money it may as well be wasted in his neighborhood [paraphrased].

Our aging population include many without health care coverage. Among those who can afford insurance their are many left to determine whether they can afford out of pocket expenses for necessary prescriptions not covered.

We are a Nation awash with social ills, uncared for. Ah, but let's throw a peanut festival alrighty.

Disgusting (understatement).
