Subject: I Am Speaking Here From What I Have Seen...

and I will say that there are likely some here who have studied this issue more than I have. I do know of some people who haven't been able to get out when their commitment has been up, but not too many. Most people that I know, who have wanted to get out have been able to and a number of them have been in fields that the army has been really wanting to recruit for. I have heard of (don't personally know of any) people who have been called back in after their discharge. To be honest, along with the fact that dh and I feel that the Lord wants us to stay in at present, I have thought that it would not be good for us to get out and then for dh to be called back in and in his field, it could happen. I am hoping perhaps, that at the rank he will be at when he retires, it will be less likely because most deployed are lower rank than he is. I did hear on the news today, that the army met it's goal for recruitments this month. That has to be good news. I still think that a draft is unlikely at present. Perhaps I will be shown to be in err eventually...I hope not. Perhaps I am making a serious misjudgement here, but many of the alarm and stories that I read, I just do not see among those I am around and many of them are military. I live in a military area and attend a mostly military ward. What I witness and what I hear in the media, often doesn't match. That said, I think that it is good that there are people out there letting our leaders know that they don't want a draft. Again, I don't think people should be forced.
