Subject: A new life
Dotty and I have set up a small home business, as Reliv distributors. Reliv makes nutrients available in powdered form as the nutrients are utilized, more quickly than as pills or capsules. The basis of the products is soy. The soy powder is mixed with various herbs, vitamins, and minerals, in various combinations. The products are clinically tested and six of the products are patented.
Karen was introduced to the products to help with her medical problems. We were so impressed with what they did for her we started taking them. I’ve tried selling products in multi-level organizations–I was more impressed with the financial possibilities than the products. This time, the sales system is as remarkable as the products. We were so impressed with the help they were giving Karen that we signed up to be distributors as well.
Instead of having distributors tell about the product, three way phone connections are set up so the potential customer can listen to someone who has been there and done that. We listened to a very interesting phone call last night. Every Monday night at 7:30 MT. A narrator talked with three couples about their experiences with taking Reliv as a product and their experiences in establishing and building a business. A woman in Kansas had had excruciating pain from fibromyalgia for 17 years. Three months after starting to taking Reliv products, the pain was gone. Her allergies also went away, she no longer had ringing in her ears, and she was no longer depressed.
A young married couple, 22 years old. The wife had had irritable bowel syndrome for years. With Reliv, the problem went away, and she no longer had migraine headaches and menstrual problems. They were so impressed with the product they set up a business. And ran it like a business. In less than two years, they were averaging $6,000 to $8,000 a month.
A magazine, Success From Home, approached Reliv and asked if they could do the January/February issue to Reliv and it’s products. The articles were written by staff members and professional writers. Forbes magazine ranks Reliv as the 5th best-managed small business. Other sources put it in the top twenty.
We would like you to try the products. If Mal had been taking a fiber product, he might not have had his bowel problem last fall. Larry might not have had his heart problem if he had been taking the heart-oriented product.
Many people like the products so much they become distributors so they can afford to buy the products and use them to fit their needs on a daily basis. We have nine different products on the kitchen counter. For the most part, we use one or two scoops from five or six products. One product reverses some of the aging effects we encounter. Another, developed especially for children, improves memory and the mind.
How have the products helped us? The strongest needs Dotty and I have a neurological. Dotty’s back pains have come back–this time in both legs–but they are not as strong as they were the first time. She is going to a doctor Thursday morning to get a shot in her spinal column in the lumbar region. The benefit from this lasts three to six months. It will help to analyze what she should do.
for a longer period of time–i.e., surgery on her back. I have peripheral neuropathy, affecting both lower arms and lower legs. I’m going to have a nerve conduction test this afternoon.
The biggest help I have had is getting rid of the need to take sleeping pills to get to sleep. I took Ambien for over five years. My doctors wanted me to get off it because it has an adverse affect on my kidneys. After switching to my new doctor, we tried different Lunesta and Rozerem separately and on alternate nights, and settled on Lunesta. Now, I take a mixture of two Reliv products in a glass of warm water. I got to sleep naturally, wake up during the night to go to the bathroom, and wake up early, and don’t feel groggy the way I did with Ambien and Lunesta.
In August, the four of us are planning to go to a three day convention in St. Louis. We will listen to success stories from both the health and business side of things. We will also be able to talk with individuals and just be in an atmosphere of success. One of the people we listened to last night stressed using The System–using the experience of the five people in the sponsoring line above us. With what we have going for us, The Products and The System, anyone can do the business. In three years, we could be completely out of debt. We are planning to come back east in August, 1980, and would like to have a newer car. Because of Reliv, we have the chance for a life to look forward to.
Sunday two weeks ago, my legs gave out on me in Church–I could not move my feet (this is why I having the nerve conduction tests). A “Jazzy” motorized chair is being ordered for me, and I have a loaner to use. I have a ramp so we can load it in the back of the van, but it is so cumbersome I’ll probably use the Jazzy just on Sunday and on Thursday when we go to the Temple. Another man at the Temple has a Jazzy (he has MS) and being are looking forward to having cart races, which is something I will not do. I had to demonstrate I could use it in the house to get Medicare to pay for it. I don’t need it in the house, though. As small as our house is, there’s nearly always something nearby to hold onto.
There are three purposes behind writing what I have. One of them is to update you on what is going on; all of you could benefit from taking the products; and the business aspects would also help all of you.
