I'm talking to the staging of it all. I see that as a sales pitch for political gain and not really a Family Home Evening.

Call me strange but we never did have cameras on us when my mother was plating up the pork chops with mashed potatoes. Not one media type was there to see us sit together at dinner, rock back and forth in the chair, be reminded about that and to then fight over the cracklin's at the bottom of the skillet that made a perfect slatherin' onto a piece of bread.

With or without scriptures, that's Family Home Evening from my childhood. Do I think it would look quite different were local news media in our home...
And why in the heck would my parents want us to dress all up and not scramble for the pan bits?
