Subject: HARLEY POLICE JACKET

1956 Harley Police jacket,yes the date isn't a misprint.
Overall great condition. Needs zipper repair, otherwise no major problems. Three owners since 56, in my posession from 1979. Jacket is waist length with built in elastic at the bottom. It has one flap pocket on the left front and two slash pockets on the inside. The label says: Harley Davidson
motorcycles Fine Workmanship. Second label below this says: Genuine Front Quarter Horse Leather. It is size 42. The inside of the jacket is fully quilted in a deep red including the sleeves. The sleeves are gathered at the wrist. This is probably one of the finest examples of early Harley jackets in existence.A long-time friends father (who was a Harley rider for almost 50 years) was stopped by a motor cop in 1956 and a disagreement occured. When the dust settled, he was in posession of the jacket, revolver, and helmet of the officer. This jacket came into my posession 23 years later and I wore it until it was too small for me. It still has pins on the pocket from my last trip to Daytona in 1982. Price on request.
