I am tracing details of my gr. grandmother Alice Maud Courtney, born in NZ perhaps Hokitika on 7.8.1884.
Her parents were Mary O'Brien (Ireland) and John Courtney (England) Siblings were twin brother John, Annie, Nellie & Jack, although John and Jack could be the one person!
Mary died when Alice was 12, sometime later Alice came to Australia (not sure if she was alone) and commenced work for the McNaught family (shoemakers we think)as a livein housekeeper in their home at Eastwood NSW. In 1903 she married Arthur Ernest Eppleston.
Alice died in Eastwood on 11.7.55
