Subject: JANUARY 17, 2004 HIKE Author: Robb [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: Saturday, October 04, 08:10:29am Saturday, January 17, 9:00am ~ Hike ~ Black Rock Trail-Lithia Springs ~ Notch Visitor Center ~ Come and enjoy the winter wonderland that is Lithia Springs. Take in the southern slopes of the Seven Sisters and former reservoir from the breathtaking vista on Black Rock Trail and then descend to the reservoir. While the trails are fairly well used during the Spring, Summer, and Fall; during Winter, we can expect to be breaking the snow for the first time as we ascend Black Rock Trial and descend to the reservoir. An approximately 5-7 mile hike, the terrain is characterized as gentle to moderate ascents and descents that are made more difficult during the winter. Portions of the trail have loose footing. Bring water, a snack, good hiking footwear (may need snowshoes), and your camera. Meet at the Notch Visitor Center at 9:00am.
