Ms. Irwin:

Just wanted to answer your question about multiple year pledges. First, I am assuming that you are using the current version of CCIS (version 2.11). CCIS allows you to create many different Funds. Each Fund allows you to record (or not record) pledges for the Fund.

When setting up the Fund, you are able to define the dates for that Fund. In your example, the Building Fund may have a beginning date now and an ending date five years from now. When entering the pledge, please be careful to enter the pledge amount for the entire period you specified.

It is important to match the period defined for the Fund with the period for the pledge. By doing so, you will be able to produce meaningful Contribution Statements. Please note that some Churches also have annual pledge amounts for the Operating Budget. When you produce a Contribution Statement, it will show the (One Year) amount for the Operating Budget and the (Five Year) amount for the Building Fund. Sometimes this may create questions from your contributors…so you may want to include a note (at the bottom of the statements letting them know how you have set these up.

Hope this answers your question.

Thanks

Leonard Smith
