Fey joined SNL first as a writer in 1997 and began appearing on stage in 2000. Poehler joined the cast a year later. Fey was first to leave the show to head up "30 Rock," but returned in 2008 for this classic Hillary Clinton- Sarah Palin spoof with Poehler. The skit was so successful, Fey wrote about it specifically in her memoir.
