I know some brokers that are waiting to get approval in my state (waiting for more than a year!). I have heard that CI is the one product that hasn't taken off in the US, but is very popular in most other industrialized countries.

Most life companies have accelerated death benefits for terminal illness, and some even have more lenient triggers, such as inability to perform ADLs, but I don't hear about this product much.
