Hi Everyone,

I just took a quick look at the cars going for auction this
Saturday in Vallejo, Calif (SF Bay Area). There was just one
Diplomat, an '82 copcar. I think that it will sell for almost
nothing on Saturday morning.

I didn't get to start it, but here are some more details:
Engine: Vin Code 'N.' For '82, I believe that this means 4 bbl HD
318. But the valves may be smaller than those in the 360 heads used
on later copcars. If they're 318 heads, they'll have a higher
compression ratio. As I recall, some MMLers said that this was
desirable.
Odometer about 40 kmiles. This may well be 140 kmiles.
Upholstery... surprisingly good. one tear in the driver's seat
cushion. Paint: white, about what one would expect. Tires: quite a
bit of tread. The car was available to the general public, which
means that it has already passed safety and smog tests.

If some SF Bay Area MMLer is looking for a very affordable
Diplomat copcar, this might be the one for you. But I'd recommend
that you take a close look before bidding!

Good luck!
CopCar George

Well guess what.... I bought the car so it got a good home. I overheard some idiots there who bid against me, say they wanted a derby car.RJ02:26:53 06/30/02 Sun
