Subject: re: jug fishing...looks like fun

Using live bait works best.
I have jug fished for years and found that cats really go for live bait.
Crawdads and leapord frogs are my top picks.
I have allso had good luck with Ivory soap cut into small cubes and placed on hook.
If you fish too deep, then you are taking a chance at getting hung up on a submerged limb or rocks.
Where I come from, we paint our jugs floressent colors so that they are easily spotted by a flashlight at night.
After dark, when the cats start comming in closer to the banks to feed.
Look for places like slow turning eddys or cliff areas to set out your jugs. You can leave your jugs unattended but you should at least check and rebait them every 2-3 hours.
Please be sure to gather them all up when your done so that the jugs don't litter the banks and that fish don't die on the jug for no reason.
Brett
