I adopted Br'er (1-1/2 year old female) two months ago from a hoarding situation in Oregon (350 dogs). Br'er has separation anxiety and cannot be left home alone without tearing up the doors/molding. So we have opted to crate her. She is a "dirty dog" and potties in her crate... even in her bed. We have tried smaller crates to bigger crates with the same outcome. I have discussed with my vet and Br'er is on Buspar for the separation anxiety and is doing better. I come home for lunch every day and she eats at the same time every day (when I come home for work). I have tried to give her the most "routine" that I can. We cannot put anything in her crate (potty pads) because she tears them up. We are at our wits end with her and are not making any progress with her. I need HELP!!! Br'er has some days that she will go in her crate willingly and let me hold her and then the next day she can be difficult to even touch her. I really need HELP!!! I am at my wits end with her and don't know if I am making things worse for her or better...any suggestions are appreciated
