Judy, my Toby slipped a disc in his lower back. He was in so much pain he could barely stand or walk. He was given a cortizon shot and I believe some anti inflamatory pills. It took weeks but he did heal and seems to have no problems now. Its been several years since. At the recommendation of our vet he takes 1/2 of a human glucosamine and chondroiton every day to keep his joints strong.
We were ready to take him to an animal chiropracot or acupuncturist.
