That problem is fixable. Mine was done by a local computer repair shop for $70 and I got it back the same day. They epoxied the connector back onto the motherboard. Aside from leaving a bunch of strange fibers sticking out of the seam, it was a neat job. Surely there must be someone near you who could do this.

Alas - my vivante died from screen flicker six months later. Now I'd really be pleased if that was fixable.

AND: the place has really cleaned up here. Looks great!
