Yes, you can easily see the battery.
You don't have to take it apart completely like I had to.

Look a half inch above the ESCAPE key. There is a hole where you can stick your finger in and slide this plastic cover to the left. You might have to press the cover say above the F7-key. With this cover of you can lift the keyboard. EASY! Make sure not brake the little pieces of plastic from the keyboard. Beneath the keyboard is a metal plate. Remove the plate and you will see the battery.
I looked at the battery, but it seems like it is glued.

Anyway, you can do this within a couple of minutes without breaking anything.
