Subject: Question about servicing

For all of those who have sent your laptops back in to get serviced, do you strip it completely down before sending it in? I mean, do you take out the floppy/cd, hard drive, battery, etc? What should you leave in?

Also, does anyone know if surface errors on a hard drive warrant getting it replaced (in the eyes of ASE or any other tech support)?

Thanks,
Kevin
