"K...Well...Guess I should start in the begining...The Floating Island was origonaly a part of Australia... (in the comic, it's downunda...Go fig.) The echidnas had settled a large part on the outskirts of the continent, an ancient yet highly evolved race...One day, a group of astronomers noticed something in the sky- a large meteor, headed straight for the capitol echidna city, Echidopolis. Unable to do anything, the metor soon hit the city, breaking off the chunk of land known today as the Floating Island...Some sort of strange stone came off of the meteor- the Master Emerald, powering the chunk of land that broke off, sending it skyward....So it remained for about a thousand years...Until one day, the brothers Edmund and Dimitri came forth with a plan- harnass the Chaos energy and get the Island back down to earth. This was before the Gaurdians came to be, and the echidnas were lead by a council...Anyhow, Edmund and Dimitri took the plan before the council, but it was imediatly rejected, thought to be to dangerous...In a fit of rage, the short tempered Dimitri wanted to go through with the plan, and attempted to do so, Edmund unable to stop him. Dimitri ended up absorbing so much Chaos energy, he was drivin insane, going on a killing spree, until a small group of echidnas and our allies were able to seal him in the Deep Catacombs...He remained there for a thousand years, only to be freed again. This time he took a new name; Enerjak. It was Knuckles who finally defeated him, all but destroying him...In order to save his life, he required mechanical replacements, resulting in what he is today...Eventually, he gathered together others, exiles from echidna society, those with mechanical parts, or those thought to be to dangerous to live amongst others...The group became known as the Dark Legion, feared by almost everyone...Killing without mercy, destroying families, mostly for the fun of it...The Legion used to be much larger, but has shrunk over time...Everyone at this camp are those who have remained loyal to the Legion..."
