History of Arethusa:

Dave Whitlam is the Chairman of the Arethusa Old Boys Association his email address areboy@aol.com.

He may be able to give you some info on this.

The Arethusa traing ship on which I served (1958/1960)
Was originally the Peking, I think, a sister ship to the Pamir: Tea Clippers which sailed the Indian/UK run.
Built in 1911 by Blohm and Voss in Hamburg:
322 feet long.
Four Masted Barque. Fore Main Mizzen and Jigger.
175' 175' 180' 145'

Moored as a Training ship in the Medway from early 30's until 1974 when it was sold and is now again the Peking
and moored alongside in Manhatten Harbour.
Cheers
RFleming.
