Hi.
I just decided to check your great grandfather's name to see if it could be found, and to my utmost pleasure I found it. From what my mother told me my grandfather commissioned your great grandfather to do a painting which I now have.It is a painting of a steam and sailing ship at sea.I am now on vacation in Nova Scotia and my household effects are packed away, but I do have my nautical documentation on hand back in Montreal.I seem to have forgotten the name of the vessel but will let you know when I check the file upon my arrival back in Montreal. From what I can remember being told the painting was all done in some type of ink. Perhaps you could advise me if this could in fact be true. I am certainly not an expoer, but the painting does not in any way look like oil. This is a beautiful painting which only a few years ago was re framed and is now displayed in my nautical den.I thought you may be interested to know of this painting and I look forwarf to hearing from you. Please forward your reply to ccmeldrum@hotmail.com

Regards,

Claude
