The Akbar was transfered to a shore based facility in Heswall from the R. Mersey.

The location is at the northern end of Heswall off Greenfield lane. The original school was knocked down although the masters house and Halyard house still exist.

The site is now remembered in name only as a private road called The Akbar.

Some of the original concrete walkways, playing field and mounting blocks for masts still exist.

There are some photo's of the shore based facility in existance but none that I am aware of on the www.
