Hi

I saw your message re the Shaftesbury. The local Museum in Grays has a few photgraphs showing the boys on the ship training and there is one group of the crew(no names shown). There is one good one of the Shaftesbury itself. They are not on display but you can request to see them. I have photocopies and would be happy to re-photocopy mine and send them to you. My gr. grandfather was a master tailor who taught on the ship. We have no photo of him and so find it tantalising to have a picture of the crew etc and not know which one he is.
