Ahh The Inde' mixed emotions are aroused, hard times, the bully boys, Dickie Bond and his HUGE slipper, always hungry,cleaning and more cleaning, work ship week I was the stoker H&S at work would have a fit today, a 14yr old rakeing clinker from a coke boiler, living life by the 'G',pulling Cutters, sinking Conweys cutters pulling out their bungs, they doing it back and bailing out our cutters, the walk to the movies on Saturday, boot 'bulling' Gaby Guages maths class, 'Yaffler' in the rigging loft, marching to church, clearing leaves from the drive, Divisions mine was Raleigh (Blue) I was no 44 that will never leave me Spark 44, marching to the dentist or doc's even when in pain ha ha, flag up, bugle flag down, bugle get up. bugle go to bed, bugle, Mr Snape band master this is 1967-1968, strike any bells, no pun intended, I could go on but you who were part of it know, if it was easier in later years, I hope it was, please don't think I now hold any ill will to my time in Inde, I don't I'm a survivor and that is what Inde did for me and I have given those lessons learned to my children ( tho not as hard of course ) times have changed, I went on to the RN in 69 Ganges and many ships after, an enjoyable career, I was in uniform till I was nearly 50, what a shame it's no more
