I was at the Inde during 1964. Had a great time there, and it stood me in good shape for joining the Marines in 1965. Do you remember the so called Welsh cook? Used to like throwing a meat cleaver at you when you entered his kitchen, or should I say galley? Do you remeber the cat of nine tails, strips of bootlaces, used to inflict punishment. I was in Drake Division, No 13, still a lucky number to this day. I will never forget popping down into the woods for a fag, or the girls in Menie Bridge. Thing that sticks in my mind was the amount of molehills that used to pop up on the playing fields, and of course the Cutter Race. I went back to see the place this month (June), but its now been taken over by the MOD, and I wasnt allowed in.
