wrong! reconnaisance in force means to use 3 battalions of calvary and create a diversion with one and pincer with the other two. This idea was originated in the japanese clan wars for the title of shogun. Divide and rule meens to divide ones army into 2 or three wings and throw your main forces at the wings and engulf each one before they can rejoin as a whole.
