Subject: Seconding the plea
In reply to: Arwen Summers 's message, "Willow/Tara fic for the archive???" on 23:31:01 07/07/02 Sun

I have brought this up privately before, but I'm saying it out loud now.
I WANT WILLOW/TARA!!

And what's more, I know I'm not the only one.
So those of you lurkers who I know are out there, please stop holding the current Spikefest against the list, and share your W/T booty with the rest of us.

Not to be snarky but there happens to be absolutely nothing wrong with Spike/Buffy so...keep them rolling. The backlash some of the listmembers have been slinging at the ship is getting a bit tiresome. Honestly not meant in a grr way, just voicing my thoughts on the subject as the list wasn't the place to do it, though some of the comments I've seen have made me make with the teeth gritting and all.

But see, I dig other ships too, Willow/Tara for one. More Tara with out the Willow here lately, you have to love Tara or else you're insane I say.

But...anyways...there are at least two relatively large W/T archives out there, Extra Flamey and the one I run (plug...but not really)Wiccan Ways. Recently my archive was described as fluffy and I'm not quite sure whether that's bad or good but hey! There's a plethora of stuff to go through, some of it good-some of it not so good, so goes the life of an open archive.

I can give you a heads up to some of the site visitors favorite authors and you can check them out...Wiccie who makes with the humor and the smut-readers often point out her 'Better Than Mocchas' piece. DarkWiccan is also a pretty popular author, readers actually mention her in the guestbook at the site so...a lot of people really like L.Countryman's fics also, some of which I also have archived at WW, but she has her own site also. The Rainbow Writers also are pretty well liked in W/T circles. My favorite W/T piece is *really* old and short by a writer called LC the fic is called Just Mine. I think it was one of the first W/T I ever read and its always just stuck with me. Dumbsaints Once More, All Naked, All Gay is popular also but not so much strictly W/T...parody dah'lins. HTH's 28 Days is popular and well known. There's also Wonco's utterly silly Miss Kitty Saves the Day, an easy comic twist to the Glory problem of season five...forseen by the insane Tara seconds before. Total sillyfic but its all about Miss Kittyfantastico. I just had to add that to give props to the mysteriously disappearing kitty.

Anyways, rambling but I thought I'd give a heads up to some of the fics the visitors at Wiccan Ways seem to point out the most. I have no idea if you'll like them and I'm sure they all go from silly to sweet to sad, there's at least a range.

lanie
Who totally has that Spike/Buffy lurve, that Willow/Tara lurve, that Willow/Spike lurve, that Spike/Dru lurve...not the Xander lurve though. Nope. Got that Anya lurvin' though.

Hey! I didn't mean to diss the Spuffy - and me a proclaimed SpikeHo! But the fact is, I have talked to W/T shippers who were hesitant to rec anything because of the bias they felt existed on the list. And I have to agree that non-Spike recs do tend to be ignored a little more.

Thank you for those links. Now I'm asking for another favour - me being extra-busy mod and all, do you think you could officially rec some stuff to the list. I want W/T in our bookmarks, and I want it in the archive. I also want to be able to go stright to a story that someone I trust has said is worth reading, since time is, alas, of the scarce.

And lanie, just so you know, I adore Willow/Spike. I checked out your new site when you first announced it - is it up and running yet?

>Hey! I didn't mean to diss the Spuffy
I didn't mean it personally. *g* Not at all. I meant mostly comments onlist. My fear is that people onlist who aren't so boisterous in rec'ing may hesitate exactly as you say some W/T fans have hesitated. Which would be of the big suck variety. I'm all about rec'ing what you think is good and not just what you think the list will salvate over. Heh. That's not a good picture image.

Spike is pretty popular, that's a fact but ya' gotta push those bashful shippers out there. I can't imagine W/T shippers being bashful in all honesty, but that could be because my interaction with them happens to take place on W/T boards? *g*

Hmmm...ack. I'll have to go through em, there's a boatload of stuff at Wiccan Ways, and still yet a boatload in my inbox waiting to be archived. I can however speed the process up a bit and ask at Wiccan Ways boards for people to rec their favorite fics, then provide the links here on this board and let anyone interested in this thread check them out and decide if they're rec worthy.

It is, sadly with low submissions. Heh. Which reminds me of a description someone gave it on a links page that cracks me up...'Spike and his biteable gay girlfriend.' That's classic. I'm gonna' have to add that to the sites title somewhere.

I didn't mean to ask you to go through everything, but if you have a few favourite W/T that you can remember off the top of your head, then please do rec them list-wards. And yes, sending your Wiccan Ways posters this way would be muchly appreciated. Are any of them already on the list? I've been trying to get some Kittens i know to rec, but so far they prefer lurking... sigh.
I'll try and check out all the W/T stuff here, but I have a severe lack of time, so anyone reccing to the list will be held in high gratitude by me.
oh, and love the 'bitable gay girlfriend' - hee!

For the archive, I believe people have recommended Hth's Twenty-Eight Days and Sotto Voce before.

Two post-"Tabula Rasa" stories you might want to look at are Mad Poetess's Pianissimo and Minnow's Life in Shadow.

Wiccan Ways is a Willow/Tara archive.

Thanks a lot! I'm heading over to the bookmarks to make sure those recs are there. And since you've read some good stuff, can you rec it to the list too, please? We need more recs there. offical format and all....
