Subject: Unyeilding Thoughts

Flawless padded into the terra slowly, looking both ways as if crossing a busy highway, before preceeding cautiously to a secluded spot.
Athena's eyes flew open and she got up cooly from where she had taken a nap. Her dark eyes followed a steady trail to the plume dissapearing behind some boulders and dead botanicals. She gave a smirk, her eyes bore into the bushes, almost seeming as if she could set them aflame with her gaze.
Flawless had felt the death glare. He wondered if she knew his every movement. He set his sleepy pup down and licked her nose quietly. He tucked his tail underneath and laid his ears back, waiting for a blow that never came. Instead he just heard the sound of steady paws....moving ever so slowly, ever so boldy towards him. He hated the suspense, and she knew it. She kenw she was breaking him, wearing his heart down, wearing his very soul down....driving him closer. She did not know the secret Flawless held, the secret he gaurded with his very life.
Fearless Mystery turned over in her sleep, and her tail fluttered in a breeze that suddenly came up. It reminded Flawless of Athena, cold and surprising. He never kenw how she was going to react, even now. He sighed and looked out form behind the bushes. She was not there, but he heard her snarl at him from behind. He was prepared for a blow, but what cae next he was not prepared for.
She had gasped, a startled kind of gasp. He couldn't help but give a little smirk, she was surprised of something, but what? He turned quickly, forgetting his demeaning posture, hoping no danger would come to his daughter. He was even more surprised when he saw Athena staring at his pup, wide eyed. A flash of softness shot through her eyes, so quick nobody would really catch it, but he had barely done the impossible. Athena merely glanced at him, hate burning in his eyes, then turned, walking around the bushes. She got up close to him, placing her muzzle in his ear. He lowered his head quietly, and cringed as she began to speak, her whisper like a porcuipine.
:You are lucky young one, I will not corrupt her mind with petty beatings. You have been saved....this time, but don't think you will get away with it.....until next time....brother.:
She gave him a hateful glance, and then retreated into the mist, flicking her plume idly.
Flawless returned his gaze to his young daughter, hapiness overwhelmed him. She was unhurt, and so was he. He had found an outlet, a weakness to his sister. He realized that Shanta might have rubbed off on Athena....Of course, what other reasonable explanation was there for Athena protecting a pup's innocence.....Flawless' pup at that? Two adopted pups, and Athena left them alone....
