Subject: Prayer Request

I would like prayer for my parents & my relationship. I was raped 15+ yrs ago (at the age of 17) by a boy that I was dating. We went to the same small church, & during a 'date' he raped me. I didn't tell anyone including my parents because I became pregnant I didn't want the baby (that I kept) to be looked at as a baby of a rape. This all happened so long ago & I never see that boy/man anymore. My son doesn't know about the rape, although he does know about my having him out of wedlock. My parents stopped going to that church due to the people's responses to me & we went on our way. I continued to stay very active in church & have since gotten married & we have a little girl now. My parents were out of church for about 10 yrs. & have gotten back into the SAME church in the past year. Our major problems started when they would ask that they be allowed to take our children with them to church.

We said NO, because we didn't want our son to be looked at differently & talked about behind his back (he's now 14�). My parents took it as though we were denying them their grandparent rights (although that's the only place they were ever told not to take them, & we allowed them to take our daughter, just not our son). Well, they wouldn't quit badgering us about it & so one day I told them what happened & they still don't understand, they think I'm
lying.

We have a VERY strained relationship now & they tell our kids that they/their church are praying for my whole family to get saved. Keep in mind our kids are 14 and 9 (very impressionable ages) when the kids tell them that we are saved, they reply, "well you don't act like it." We all just need prayer to 'fix' this whole thing if possible. We'd appreciate all the prayers we can get. It's not easy to have to deny your parents from seeing your children but
we feel like at this time, it's best for our kids.
