I saw your arguments, had to laugh. Many people in Canada consider themselves to be living in the 51st state. Canada's gun laws are in place for the liberal city dwellers. 80% of the population lives within 250 miles of the border, in large cities and their surrounding suberbs. The people in the northern areas own guns and practice in a bit of civil diaobedience by their gun ownership. Same as Austrailia.
Another country I am quite familiar with also does not allow their citizens to own any type of weapon. They are quite serious about this law. At a traffic stop or checkpoint you will have a MP5, M16, AK47 pointed at your chest until you are released. In Colombia all windows and doors have bar on them. ALL. In this society where guns are outlawed you will see more guns than you do here in the USA. Donny, you must not know many if any gun owners. As the owner of many guns and a pistol range owner and a State of Kansas firearms instructor I come in contact with a wide spectrum of people who are interested in guns. These people are the nicest people I have encountered in all my travels. They range from truck drivers, business owners, ER docs and several law enforcement officers who compete with each other in several of the shooting sports, IDPA International Defensive Pistol Association and IPSC International Pistol Shooting Confederation. I also teach young kids firearms safety, hunter safety and defensive handgun safety.
I would urge you to find out more about the majority of gun owners and why they feel the way they do about their Second Amendment rights.

Thank you for your time,
Gary
