Here is my answer

First take away all belief in the super natural:

There is no reason for our existance. We were not created for any purpose nor will anything we ever do matter to anybody or anything. Two sides to that coin...side one is that we can make and create our own futures. We don't have anyone to answer to. All good right? Flip side is this. With no purpose there is aimlessness. If [no God] then love, good, holyness, morality, truth, honor, and all the values we hold dear would mean absolutly nothing. They would be shit and even those who still held those beliefs would be fools. There would be no rewrd for doing the right thing at all. And I think there would be a massive devaluation of human life.

Now with the belief of a God of anykind we get all the things lost in the above. AND we find the purpose for our existance. Why do we have children? Is it mearly to procreate and further our species? Or is there more to it than that? I believe the reason we have children is so we can love them. We know they can be a pain in the ass, and that we may get sleepless nights, doctor bills, dirty diapers, wet beds, and a whole bunch of other things that are unpleasent. So why bother? So you can love them I say!

And that is why I think we exist really. So God could love us. Simple I'm sure but I think it works...
