If you were to try to hang me on a cross BECAUSE I was a Christian. I wouldn't LET you. I would try to escape that. Of course. But I would not expect any Christian "retaliation" and them to go out and hang YOU on the cross because you hung me. I would expect that the law would deal with that.

But at the same time if I were killed because I was a Christian, I would be martyred adn all the better for me! Martyrs have a special place in God's Kingdom.

Many people like the apostles were beaten, floggeed, stoned, hung, killed all because of their faith. They did not retaliate. And start killing non-christians. They let God handle the vengance part. But that was in a day when the government of their society was against them. There wasn't much they could do about physical harm. There was no one to protect them. Howevre in America I have protection no matter WHAT religion of beliefs I have. It's a different time, place and situation.

I usually hold that turn the other cheek to things that they can't protect me from like people making fun of me because I'm Christian. Free speach and all...
