I wonder why?

I mean why was Israel the chosen nation? Was it because of their geneology? Or was it because of their faith in God? The covenant was clear, it was the faithfulness of Israel that made them the chosen people. But that covenant has changed because of Jesus Christ. He even said, not everyone who is from israel is Israel. Which means what? According to Christian Faith (at least my understanding) is that those who are now faithful in Jesus Christ are Israel now.

I find it odd how whenever the Israelites tried to rebuild their temple it was destroyed by some freak accident or by invading armies. Look up the history of the temple after Christ. It's almost like God is saying "You don't need that anymore...I gave you what you need..."

So the nation formerly known as Palestine to me is just another country. I would support them, but only due to the fact that we are allies and not the religious area. There is a lot of sentimental things in Israel worth fighting for. But in the end it's all gonna get blown up anyway.
