Subject: Radio is getting better every day

Lets face it, he sucked.

Animal stories???? come on, the voice was pretty stupid.

Chicago Radio has very few bright spots, Kevin Matthews wasn't one of them.

Now if they would only fire Mancow, Radio in Chicago might have a chance to be decent.

The only thing that really sucks about Kevin Matthews getting dumped is that in some way my tax dollars support his unemployment.

Ratings don't lie, radio is a business, if he got ratings or made the company money, he'd still be on the air. For those of you who have been whining and complaining about ABC, its a PUBLICLY TRADED COMPANY! That means people OWN STOCK, and invest money to make a PROFIT! If the company makes poor decisions that don't make them a profit, then you don't have that company around long. Since ABC/Disney have been around ohhh 80 years or so, they know enough about good business decisions and bad ones... Business is business, and firing Kevin was good business if you ask me.

Why did you bother even checking out this site if you don't like Kev. You are probably a Mix listener, nice station, a mix of 20 songs every hour over and over again. The only thing I agree with you is about Mancow, he is a copycat and a fraud, yet somehow he still has a job.

I found Animal stories to be quite humerous, Kev did a better job at it than Lujack did. I hope that Kev resurfaces somewhere soon, Chicago radio is a joke. For me, the only halfway decent station is the Loop. I find myself listening to radio over the net. Omaha has better stations than Chicago. Anyone who likes the Loop should check out the Bone in San Fran.

Mix listener - I don't think so.

Good Radio - you have some points there. There is better stuff on the web.

I totally disagree with you about Kev! He is very under rated, he just wasn't allowed to be funny. All of us old school KevHeads could see that!

My question is, where is the light of hope for Chicago radio? It is horrible!! Every station seems to have a 50 song or less rotation!!

Hey Bob, You obviously didn't listen to Uncle Larry & Little Snot Nosed Tommy when you were younger, it's the same voice ( style ) . Animal stories has alwayl been stupid but thats whats funny about them. If you listened to them people are the ones being made fun of for the most part.

Just because ABC/Disney is in business for a profit, doesn't necessarily mean that every profitable thing they produce is the best of it's kind. In turn, there are just as many examples of incredibly talented & funny people involved in unsuccesful projects, sometimes due to the restrictions handed down from "on high." Perhaps Kev was hog-tied by the corporate pirates, at least enough to keep him from being himself. Look at where he came from. The old LOOP pretty much let those guys do whatever they wanted. I can see where Kev, over time, would succumb to the pressure... even if it only became apparent through a slow entropy of the show's quality level.

Kev, if you're reading these, we're on your side. We get it. And we want you & yours to be healthy, happy and well. Just as I am sure you would want ours to be.

PS: As a recently relocated Chicagoan now in the NE Wisconsin area, I am going to miss the annual ice fishing trip to the northwoods!!

PPS: During a recent televised Bears pre-game show, was that Jim standing near the stadium gates with a sign reading "I knew Kevin Butler. Feed me."?
