I was watching Hagee the other day, and it became apparent that he has replaced Satan with Clinton in his theology--or at least in his preacher's lexicon. It made me wonder about the purpose served by this swap, now that Clinton is no longer in office. Is it:

a) Just a reliable crowd-pleaser and emotional cue after eight years of demonizing and scapegoating, or

b) A calculated distraction from the incompetence and immorality of Dubya, since those in the pews are now accustomed to sermons containing personal criticisms of high public officials?

In any case, the preachers don't seem to be suffering from "Clinton fatigue"--although I daresay he's tired of them.
