Sorry you had to learn the hard way, but the government-especially big government-is a magnet for hustlers, thugs and otherwise small people with big egos. At least you can say "I tried".

I don't know how it is in Britain, but in America if you want power you either have to win in a out-of-the-way election or kiss up to the local big wig. THEN if he likes you and figures you won't try to rock the boat he'll put you in a slot.

Some offices can be bought for enough money-when you spend for elections, a lot of that money eventually winds up right back at the people doing the power brokering. If you're the right bloodline, a public career's virtually made for you-from a ceremonial license signing post to state senate to congress...

And America's the major league of govt. corruption. The composite whole of local, state and federal offices leach away the lifeblood of America's citizens, yet create all sorts of special tax breaks for the megacorp elite. Then the govt. invests tax monies back into corporations at a rate of return that far exceeds taxes collected from Americans. Those stocks the govt. buys off the corps. makes them government owned.

It's a insidious form of socialism, dressed up as the American Way. We're too dazed by reality tv, sports and the biochemical effects from our fast food to even want to realize how things really are.

www.CAFRman.org is where any American Drunk can look up the consolidated annual finacial report for their state.

So, you've done a election-now what?
