Oh yes, even when my family lived in the relatively secure place of El Paso we had "twisters" and the dreaded sandstorms that totally took over the area near Eastwood High in the city. I think that spot has more housing than desert now, but the bad weather was a sight when all there was over there was a sandy mess.
